re-purposing this blog
although this blog is just over a month old, and i doubt i even have any readers to notify, i am sending out a general notification that i intend to re-purpose this blog from here on out. while i will still post great music, re-blog interesting images and quotes from others, and occasionally post completely personal narratives, i will from now on use this blog mostly for intellectual/academic purposes.
i am soon updating my personal website with this page, which shows a developing mind map of my upcoming dissertation. as the red bubble implies, there is a public engagement, or transparency, element to my work, and that will involve utilizing this blog to discuss my thoughts, my work, and ideas that are informing my progress. so i imagine posting think pieces on my readings, links to interesting geoweb applications, annotated bibliographies as useful, and presentations i give. if anyone actually reads this, don’t worry, i promise to be fun and interesting (as much as my work allows, anyway)!! haha!
in general, i think that if i find anything worth posting here, it’s going to be fascinating, even for people who are not into critical technology studies, urban geography, or humanitarian aid/development. like my next post, a debate that i am currently having with a fellow geographer about critical and marxist geography. it’s juicy!
at all times i welcome comments, suggestions, and thoughts! i don’t know if there’s any way to do this on my tumblr site, so here it is: rlburns[at]uw[dot]edu. and feel free to check out my personal website for more contact information.
